DEFINE WHAT STRESS IS FOR YOU.

Updated: Nov 18, 2019

We all talk and moan that our lives are stressful without being able to define precisely, what stress is for us.

To understand and handle your stress, you need to know what you find stressful. Here's an exercise to see what and when you feel stressed.

1 Define your own stress sentence

Stress is when.....for me

2. BRAINSTORMING

I am in stress when......

Take a blank paper and write down what comes to your mind (events, behaviour, signs, thoughts, colour, persons, etc.).

3. SWAP HANDS Change the pen to the other hand and brainstorm again.

I am in stress when......

4. REVIVE YOUR DEFINITION OF STRESS

Review step 1 und refine your first stress sentence

PS Here are two additional steps if you want to

Look at the stress situation on your paper. Now evaluate each stress situation from 0 to 10 (10 is very stressful) and write the number next to it.

Then you sort the stressors. The highest numbered stressors are on top, followed by the next lowest number, and so on.

What are your 3 biggest stressors?
